The City Life
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today I'm going to chat about the city itself. Derry is one of those places that doesn’t feel bland. Even if you’re only in the city for classes, you pick up on its character fast. It’s not huge, which helps as a student because you can actually get around without planning your whole day around buses. The centre feels active enough that it doesn’t feel like uni life is separated from the city. You can go for food, meet people, or just walk about without it being a big mission. The history is hard to miss, mainly because it’s literally built into the place. The Walls are the obvious example. They don’t feel like some distant attraction, they’re just part of the city. You’ll be walking to wherever and suddenly you’re right beside them. They make the centre feel like it has a proper shape to it, like the city has a core rather than just a spread of streets.
