Dear Derry Brief

Hey everybody!  Welcome back for my second blog. If you read my introduction post you will know I recently made a big move from the big city of Liverpool back to Ireland, and I am now studying in Derry! I thought for this blog I’d chat a bit more about what settling in here has actually been like, the highs and lows and ofcourse the wee comforts of what has made Derry feel so homily.  When I first thought of Derry, I wasn’t sure if anything could compete with Liverpool’s buzz. Liverpool has so much to offer from the nightlife, the shopping to the famous docks. There was always madness throughout the city. However, I soon realised although Derry may not be as full of madness, the city has its own energy, a warm and familiar feel. My Introduction Blog

Hey everyone, my name is Emma! I am from Galbally a small place in the middle of County Tyrone. I am 20 years old and currently in my second year of Marketing in Ulster University. However, I did not start my studies here at Ulster University! I started my studies off across waters all the way over in Liverpool. I loved the city, the atmosphere, the people, the nights out, everything. After an adventurous year of living over in the city of Liverpool I had a change of heart and decided to pack it in and return to home. I am going to aim to base my blog around my transition from University life in Liverpool, a buzzing city with crazy nightlife and chaos to Derry, a smaller homely city with a big heart. In fairness, I did love Liverpool but I started to think carefully about what would be best for me academically and personally. That’s when I decided to make the move to Derry to continue my Marketing degree.
